Craig Revel Horwood is a multi-talented entertainment dynamo who just keeps moving, dancing and creating, no matter what life throws his way. From his early beginnings in Ballarat, Australia, Horwood knew he was meant to dance his way to the stars, and ultimately that is what he has done during his very multi-faceted career.

A Busy and Storied Career in Entertainment

Horwood’s early career took him far, fast. His early stage credits include professional productions in Paris and Edingburgh, Scotland, and from there it was on to London’s West End, where he appeared in CATS, MISS SAIGON and CRAZY FOR YOU. Norwood’s recording credits include LA CAGE AUX FOLLES, CRAZY FOR YOU and TWELVE DAYS OF CHRISTMAS with Jonathan Pryce. Since 1994, Horwood focused on directing and choreographing major productions, but more recently he was lured to television, with his role as a judge on the hit show STRICTLY COME DANCING on the BBC.

Strictly Come Dancing

Craig Horwood’s role on “Strictly Come Dancing” has brought him acclaim and renown with a wider public, as Horwood’s “bad cop” approach is always riveting. Norwood uses his dancing skill and knowledge to judge the up and coming dancers who appear on the show, and he’s been known to be tough but fair. In Horwood’s opinion, going easy on a young dancer doesn’t do them any favors. If they want to excel, they have to be willing to work hard and continually improve.

Going beyond his work as a dancer, director and judge, Horwood has also launched a writing career with his engaging books about his life. In “All Balls and Glitter” Horwood tells the story of his raucous upbringing in Australia with an unpredictable and alcoholic father. With frank language and his trademark honesty, Horwood weaves a fascinating tale about a young man whose determination to make his mark has served him well. Horwood followed up this well-regarded book with the highly entertaining “Tales from the Dance Floor,” in which he turns the spotlight behind the scenes at the dance competition show that’s made him a household name.

From dancing to directing, singing and writing, Horwood does it all!
